Southwest Arkansas District Fair Talent Show yields four winners

Kora Hoover and Wade Hoover perform the song “Holy Water” at the Southwest Arkansas District Fair and Livestock show Talent Show Tuesday morning in the Fair Park Coliseum. They won their category and will move on to another talent show at the Arkansas State Fair.

A talent show was held Tuesday morning at the Fair Park Coliseum in which five contestants vied to be chosen as best in their age and category so they could proceed to the next contest at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock. The show was part of a slate of events for the Southwest Arkansas District Fair and Livestock Show, which started Tuesday and runs until Saturday night at Fair Park.

The performers each sang songs of their choosing, with some accompanying themselves on guitar.

In the junior variety category, Kora Hoover performed on guitar and Wade Hoover performed on wooden box as Kora sang “Holy Water” made popular by We the Kingdom and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.

In the junior vocal solo category, Declan Drake performed “Sunday Best” by Surfaces and Kora Hoover sang “It’s a Climb,” a song that has been performed by Miley Cyrus.

Then, in the senior vocal solo category, Kaelyn Coulombe sang “Crazy In Love,” made popular by Beyonce who co-wrote it with her husband Jay-Z.

In the senior variety category, Zoe Fincher played guitar and sang “Rainbow,” a song recorded and co-written by Kacey Musgraves.

The judges for the contest were Jackie Lampkin, Mistie Arivett and Marty Arivett. They also judged the Southwest Arkansas District Pageant Tuesday evening.
