Thrive Hempstead County, the Hope/Hempstead County ACCESS Task Force held a special meeting Monday evening at the Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. The called meeting was to encourage our African American & Hispanic communities to start attending the monthly meetings. These two groups comprise more than 60 percent of our population. Mayor Steve Montgomery said our community needs to come together and decide what the needs of our community are. Thrive Hempstead County is a five-year strategic plan for ALL of Hempstead County and meetings are held at Hempstead Hall each month.
