ACS’s Relay For Life Hosts “Business After Hours”

The Hope Chamber of Commerce held a Business After Hours event Tuesday, October 8, 2019 that was hosted by American Cancer Society’s, Relay for Life promoting their upcoming events. They served sandwiches chips, beverages and dessert to everyone and brought their own giant blow up chair for visitors to take photos in during the event.
American Cancer Society Advocate, Kayce Stallman shared, “The ACS is excited about the Celebrity Waiter event happening on October 18, 2019 at Hempstead Hall in Hope, AR. This event typically kicks off the Relay for Life Season. They are in the process of making some pretty significant changes to what Relay for Life in Hempstead County will look like in 2020, so be looking for announcements about that soon.”
Stallman added, “Where does the money go? ACS invested over $48,000,000 in the south region for research in 2018 alone. They provided 414 Arkansas cancer patients a free or low cost home away from home when the need to travel for treatment was a necessity. They also helped with 404 rides for patients in Arkansas get to and from cancer related treatments.”
ACS encourages everyone to talk to their doctors about cancer screenings, especially if you have a family history of any kind of cancer. We believe that early detection saves many lives. If anyone ever has questions, please call 800-227-2345. Someone will be there to help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
