Hope City Manager Catherine Cook issued a short press statement Monday afternoon announcing applications for the six committees charged with developing a five-year Strategic Plan for both the City of Hope and greater Hempstead County.
In the statement, Cook said, “Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation, the City of Hope, Hempstead County, and the Arkansas Economic Development Institute, wish to announce that the following committees are forming to provide input into Hempstead County’s Economic 5-Year Strategic Plan: The six committees are Community Development, Economic Development, Tourism, Quality of Life, Education, and Public Projects.”
Cook also said, “Each committee will meet once a month from May to September, 2019. If you are interested in participating in the future of Hope and Hempstead County, you can go online at hempstead.youraedi.com or www. hopeusa.com and fill out an application to serve on one of these committees. Hard copy applications are available at Hope City Hall, the Hempstead County Courthouse, Hope/Hempstead Chamber of Commerce, and the Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation.”
Computers are available at Hope City Hall, 206 W Avenue A, to fill out an online application. Applications will be taken April 8-April 29, 2019.
“Your input can help Hope and Hempstead County reach its highest potential,” the press statement concludes.

Both an English and Spanish version of Cook’s statement was issued, and both are shown in their entirety.
