The Hope Hempstead Chamber of Commerce had a last minute fill-in literally “step-up” at its weekly community coffee as Anytime Fitness center hosted a number of business people as well as seeing appearances from both County Judge candidates on Wednesday.
Visitors were introduced to new manager, Macayla Sepulveda, a native of nearby Genoa, who was appointed to the Hope facility after her military service.
Anytime Fitness has over 5,000 fitness centers worldwide, including the one based at 1301 N. Hervey.
Chamber director Beckie Moore complimented Sepulveda, and thanked Anytime Fitness for hosting the event after the original host had to drop out last minute.
“It was short notice, and we were very excited to have them ‘step up’ and host today’s event. No pun intended,” Moore said, standing near on the high stepper exercise machines.

In other Chamber news, the Chamber board of directors were scheduled for their monthly meeting on Wednesday afternoon, and next week. the Chamber coffee will be in Old Washington.
