FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ Eric Musselman is in the hunt for a new assistant with Gus Argenal leaving to become head coach at Cal State San Bernadino.

Argenal’s has strong ties to the California area and West Coast. He had been looking to become a head coach for awhile. His new school confirmed the hiring with a release.

“I want to thank athletic director Shareef Amer, President Morales, and the rest of the dedicated hiring committee for this incredible opportunity. I could not be more excited to be a part of a campus community that gives its student-athletes an elite collegiate experience,” Argenal said in the press release.

“My team will be aggressive and attack on both sides of the ball utilizing a position-less style that takes advantage of mismatches and plays with great pace for 40 minutes. Go Yotes!”

Argenal spent two seasons at Cal State Fullerton as the associate head coach and was an assistant with Musselman at Nevada for two seasons before that.  In all, Argenal has 19 seasons of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
