The Little Rock Marathon, presented by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and the Little Rock Half Marathon, presented by Baptist Health, will be held Sunday, March 2, 2025, with the Little Rock 10K, the Little Rock 5K, presented by Arkansas Federal Credit, and the Little Rockers Kids Marathon Final Mile, presented by the Hatcher Agency taking place on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The Run Local Race Series, presented by Start 2 Finish, is a Little Rock Marathon‐led grassroots health initiative that focuses on promoting the benefits of a healthy lifestyle through movement, be it walking or running. The series features three different major races each calendar year, culminating on LRM Race Weekend.
The Little Rock Marathon and Run Local are both projects of and benefit the Little Rock Parks & Recreation.
LRM Executive Director Geneva Lamm said that Race Weekend participants will start at 7:00 am for races on both Saturday and Sunday in March, with the Marathon carrying a 5:00 am early start time. The 2024 Sunday races started early to avoid predicted elevated heat and humidity, and Lamm said that the majority of athletes participating in the weekend’s activities preferred the earlier start times, which led members of the Race Committee to consider making it a permanent change.
“We’ve always been a race for every pace and every athlete, and warm temperatures like we were facing last year unfairly limits participation for some of those folks,” Lamm said. “We want to make sure every athlete who pushes themselves to be on the course for any event on Race Weekend is comfortable and prepared to have the best experience possible, and the earlier start times give everyone that opportunity.”
LRM Executive Director Geneva Lamm said that through September 11, registration for the full marathon is $95, with half marathon registration starting at $85. From there, prices for each of the weekend’s events will step up incrementally until they reach full price or race capacity, whichever happens first. “Every year we see such incredible determination, joy and community spirit on display over Race Weekend,” Lamm said. “Whether this is your first race or your 20th time running Little Rock, we are excited to celebrate our shared love for running, for this event, and for this incredible city with every athlete participating in March.”
Participation in the Run Local series is limited to the first 400 people who register for all three events, which include the following local favorites:
- Creep N’ Crawl (5k, Half Marathon) – Saturday, Oct. 19
- Ugly Sweater (5k) – Saturday, Dec. 21
- Little Rock Marathon weekend – Saturday, March 1 – Sunday, March 2, 2025

Lamm noted that individuals who are interested in participating in the series must register for all three events at the same time to be eligible to receive the special Run Local medal at the Little Rock Marathon in March. Registering for each event separately does not automatically enter you into the series. There is no extra charge to be part of the series.
The Little Rock Marathon’s Training Program, presented by Rock City Running, kicks off in a few weeks with a new ‘Off the Couch’ program. The training program is free to the public and is led by longtime Little Rock Marathon trainers Hobbit and Tom Singleton. Little Rock’s training program is one of the few free marathon training programs in the country, and has trained more than 140,000 athletes since the program’s inception.
