Motorists drove around the building to purchase and pick up meals at tables set up under awnings just northwest of Hempstead Hall. 

About 30 volunteers from the Lions Club and from UAHT worked to prepare, serve the meals, and do cleanup from early Thursday afternoon to about 8:30 in the evening.  The food not bought by customers was donated to inmates at the Hempstead County Jail.
