67 Gas & Grill Hosts Community Coffee and Raffle Drawing

Citizens of Emmet and Prescott met Tuesday morning at the 67 Gas & Grill for a Community Coffee. Linda Hamilton, owner of 67 Gas & Grill, hosted the event to show her support for a community that rallied around the gas station and diner during a fire that gutted the building last October. The business, she said, was a total loss, and it took almost six months to rebuild and reopen.

“I’ve redone the inside completely, taking ideas from other places. We’ve got the open ceiling now that several restaurants are doing and we’ve got new lighting inside. I went a little more country, a little simple, but people seem to like it,” Hamilton said.

Other business owners and workers from Emmet, she said, came together to help with the cleanup from the fire and helped get her business rolling in the aftermath. Hamilton, wearing a t-shirt with the slogan “#Emmetstrong”, said she started a raffle to give back to the town. Several local businesses made donations for a gift basket that included a Yeti coffee cup and tumbler, hand sanitizers, pocket knives, pens, herbal life items, a wallet, as well as $120 in cash. Tickets were sold for a dollar each over the past few weeks, and the proceeds will be donated to the town. The winner was drawn at the coffee by Emmet’s mayor, Dale Booker, with the winning ticket belonging to Zion Delaney, who will be contacted by Hamilton to claim their prize.

The station, Hamilton said, carries both non-ethanol fuel and on-road diesel, as well as their classic hamburgers and menu items. They’ve also recently started carrying propane again, as well as doing food deliveries on 10 orders or more. In addition, they have live music every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, coordinated by Mark Keith. For the approaching hunting season, they’ve recently started stocking deer corn and nut grub from the Cornelius farm in Prescott.

The 67 Gas & Grill is open Monday-Thursday from 6 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Friday from 6:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m., and Saturday from 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
