At Approximately 3:25 pm Tuesday afternoon Hope Central Dispatch received a call in reference to a single vehicle accident near the 27 mile marker on I30 East .

A late model Nissan Sentra was traveling East on I-30 when the driver of the vehicle hydroplaned, traveling into the median and then struck a tree.

Two female occupants were in the Nissan. The driver was able to exit the vehicle on scene but the passenger remained trapped inside the vehicle.

The Hope Fire Department was then dispatched to assist the Hope Police Department in extracting the passenger.

Both occupants were transported to a local hospital. Arkansas State Police are investigating the accident. The Hope Police Department was assisted by the Hope Fire Department and the Guernsey Volunteer Fire Department.

The scene is now clear and traffic is flowing.
