At approximately 1:10 pm Monday, the Hope Hempstead Central Dispatch received a call in reference to an accident on North Hervey Street. The accident was between a black Hyundai Elantra and a black Chevrolet Equinox. Witness accounts stated that the Chevrolet was exiting from Pine Park Drive onto North Hervey Street to proceed south. According to preliminary information, the Chevrolet struck the black Hyundai that was traveling South on North Hervey Street. The driver of the Hyundai was transported to a local hospital by Pafford Emergency Medical Services. The accident is being investigated by Hope Police Corporal Brock Haley. Hope Fire Department was also on the scene to assist.
