AR Supreme Court Justice Rhonda Wood Announces December Fundraising Results

Conway, AR – The campaign to re-elect State Supreme Court Justice Rhonda Wood today announced that it raised $51,700 in the month of December and is currently sitting on more than $124,000 cash on hand for the May election.

“The significant financial support received by the campaign, in only a 30-day period, demonstrates the high degree of trust, confidence, and respect that Arkansans have for Justice Wood as a member of the Arkansas Supreme Court,” said Robert Coon, spokesperson and  Finance Chair for the campaign.  “Justice Wood enters 2022 in a strong position for re-election and over the coming months will continue to highlight the hard working, conservative values she brings to the state’s highest court.”

Justice Wood stated in response, “I am humbled by the support and look forward to continue serving Arkansas as I begin my 16th year on the judicial bench. It has been an unimaginable honor to work daily to protect the justice system preserve our constitutional rights.”

Justice Wood was first elected to the Arkansas Supreme Court in 2014 and has served as an associate justice in Position 7 since 2015.  She previously served on the state Court of Appeals from 2013-14 and as a circuit judge in the 20th Judicial District from 2007-12.  During her time on the bench, she has written more than 350 appellate opinions and has heard nearly ten thousand cases.

Wood received a bachelor’s degree from Hendrix, and her juris doctorate from the Bowen School of Law, with highest honors, as well as receiving the top score on the Arkansas Bar Exam. Wood was admitted and has practiced before:  the Arkansas Court of Appeals, the Arkansas Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis.        

She resides in Conway and is married to Dr. Michael Wood. They have four children.
