Free Bus Rides Honoring Dr. King’s Vision: In partnership with Rock Region Metro, we are offering free rides across all bus routes throughout the day. This initiative not only celebrates Dr. King's legacy but also promotes greater community accessibility and engagement. Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to explore the community, participate in service projects, and attend local MLK Day events without transportation barriers.
King Holiday Candlelight Vigil and Fireworks Spectacular: The day will culminate in a moving Candlelight Vigil at 5:30 PM at the NLR Riverfront Park, followed by a Fireworks Spectacular at 6:00 PM. This gathering is a time to reflect on the teachings and impact of Dr. King, highlighted by the brilliance and communal spirit of the fireworks display.
A Call to Action: We invite all members of the community to join us in these activities as we reflect on Dr. King's message of service and community. Let us come together to make this day meaningful by participating in service projects, educational programs, and peaceful celebrations in honor of a man who dedicated his life to the principles of justice, equality, and peace.
