Arkansas Democrats Field Dynamic Candidate Slate For 2022

LITTLE ROCK - Candidate filing week has opened with a flurry of activity with Democratic candidates from across Arkansas officially filing to run for office. School teachers, nurses, farmers, and business leaders are all stepping up to safeguard and grow their communities – running as Arkansas Democrats.

“We’ve had some truly great people decide to run for office because the truth is, Arkansas voters are hungry for the opportunity to vote for candidates that will put them first for a change. We’re going to be talking about what makes Arkansas great and how we can move our state forward,” said DPA Chair Grant Tennille. “Our party will be working hard to support our candidates because we can win in 2022 and we can break the GOP supermajorities in the Arkansas Legislature.”

“Arkansas has the lowest voter turnout and voter registration rates in the nation. That’s an indictment on the type of leadership being offered up by the Republican Party of Arkansas. We’re committed to the right to vote and to reaching out to voters to use the power of the ballot to take back their say in their communities. The 2022 election is going to matter, and Arkansas is going to have some true champions fighting to represent us from the Governor’s Mansion to the county courthouse.”

Candidate filing opened Tuesday, February 22 and closes March 1st.
