LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Under the leadership of Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Arkansas led the nation in Q4 GDP growth, The Bureau of Economic Analysis announced yesterday in their Q4 2024 Gross Domestic Product report. Arkansas led all states in the U.S. with 5.1% growth on an annualized basis. This is the second consecutive quarter in a row in which Arkansas has the fastest growing economy in the United States.
The Arkansas Department of Commerce also announced yesterday that the state now has more people working than ever before.
"Yesterday's news confirms what Arkansans already know: pro-growth policies make a difference. Arkansas has led the nation on commonsense, conservative economic reforms like cutting taxes, investing in education, and growing our workforce. Our economy is stronger than ever before and we are making the Natural State one of the best places to live, work, and raise a family," said Governor Sanders.
"Arkansas has significant economic momentum, and we are leading the nation in GDP growth," said Secretary of Commerce Hugh McDonald. "This growth is the result of smart, commonsense public policy under the Sanders administration that is focused on delivering low costs and taxes, cutting red tape, and supporting businesses in Arkansas."
Governor Sanders has cut taxes three times since taking office, saving Arkansas taxpayers over half a billion dollars in 2024 alone. Recently, Governor Sanders announced the Grocery Tax Relief Act, which will repeal the state grocery tax and return nearly $10.9 million to the Arkansas taxpayer annually.
Governor Sanders is also getting Arkansans off the sidelines and into the workforce though the implementation of Arkansas LAUNCH, a skills-based platform designed to connect jobseekers with opportunities and help employers find skilled workers they need. And she has prioritized education through Arkansas LEARNS, a series of bold K-12 reforms signed into law in 2023, and Arkansas ACCESS, significant higher education reform legislation signed into law this month.
