The Arkansas State Police were on campus at Hope High School on March 2 to give HHS students a glimpse at career opportunities in ASP. Troop G Corporal David Hamilton and Corporal Bernard Pettit presented videos about the ASP Academy which followed recruits through the rigorous qualification training to become an ASP trooper or specialty officer and the Troop G ASP Drug Interdiction Unit, which Pettit oversees. Cpl. Hamilton also gave a tour of an ASP patrol car while Cpl. Pettit got students acquainted with the ASP Troop G Drug K-9. The program was sponsored by the HHS Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps unit. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools
