Following the reading, Representative Henley joined Principal Ashley Stewart for an interview where she discussed her first legislative session, the importance of education, and her commitment to serving Hempstead County and District 88.
During her remarks, Representative Henley emphasized how critical reading is—both in the legislature, where lawmakers review hundreds of bills, and in everyday life. She also praised Clinton Primary for its recent growth in reading scores, crediting the hard work of teachers and the school’s implementation of “science of reading” strategies.
The visit closed with Representative Henley presenting a commemorative coin from the Arkansas General Assembly as a token of appreciation to the school.
Clinton Primary and Hope Public Schools thank Representative Henley for her time and look forward to seeing the continued positive impact of her work on behalf of Hempstead County.
