Sue Allen Pico, a historian and artist, incorporated history, math and science into her presentations as she explored the art of cartooning figures such as animals, letters and people and expressing emotions in cartoons with Hope Academy of Public Service students April 25-29. Pico and other Artist in Residence program artists are supported in local classrooms through grant funding from the Arkansas Arts Council and Southwest Arkansas Arts Council.
