Artist in Residence Mary Overton worked with third grade classes Nov. 9-13 discussing the land mass geography and cultural history of the various regions of the state of Arkansas. Supported by grant funding through the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council and the Arkansas Arts Council in partnership with the Hope Public Schools, Overton and other artists bring art education to the classroom in cross-curricular programs and projects that allow students to produce art and learn science, math, history, geography and art in week-long sessions taught by the artist. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools
