Arts Council Announces Youth Art Exhibition and Competition

Hope, Ark. – The Southwest Arkansas Arts Council (SWAAC) announces the 2022 Youth Art Exhibition and Competition. Youth from the surrounding areas, aged 12 and up, are invited to enter artwork to be exhibited and then compete for a cash prize and a gallery showing. Student work will be showcased for two days, May 2nd and 3rd, noon until 8pm at Hempstead Hall’s, Hope Suite. Exhibition is open to all, artists and families, and the community is invited to view the works during this time. Then, on May 3rd the submissions will be judged and winners for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Places and Rising Star will be chosen for each age category of 12–14 years-old, 15-17 years-old, and 18-college. In addition, one will be chosen as Best in Show. Winners from each age group will be invited to a gallery show and a reception May 12th, 5:30pm at the Art Station. During the reception, winners’ placement will be announced, and prizes awarded.

Deadline for submission is Thursday, April 28th. Work must be dropped off at the Art Station, 200 East Division Street.
