December 26, 2024 McCRORY, Ark. — On Saturday, December 21, 2024, the McCrory Police Department requested the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) to investigate a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of Seaman Street in McCrory. Dennis Wayne Barber, 48, of McCrory was critically injured and remains hospitalized in Little Rock.Suspect Trent Allen Branscum, 37, of McCrory was apprehended by Woodruff County Sheriff’s deputies after reportedly fleeing from the scene. He was charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder and transported to the Woodruff County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
