LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge released a statement following the Biden Administration’s decision to reverse course and drop its attempt to impose critical race theory, the 1619 Project, and similar radical theories on America’s classrooms. The move comes after a 20-state letter that Rutledge joined pushing back against a Biden Administration proposal to use U.S. Department of Education grants in American History and Civics to push those discredited theories.

“We must teach our students historical truths rather than deeply flawed leftist ideologies, like Critical Race Theory, that distort our great nation’s past,” said Attorney General Rutledge. “This is a win for students in Arkansas and across America, and I will continue to fight to keep such ideological extremism out of the classrooms.”

Along with Attorney General Rutledge, the letter was signed by the attorneys general of Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia.
