ATLANTA, Ga. – Arkansas defensive lineman Cameron Ball has been named to the preseason watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy, which is presented to the player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.
Ball was one of 111 FBS member institutions nominated to the watch list.
In 2023, Ball played in 11 games with six starts, including the final four games of the season. The Atlanta, Ga., native recorded a career-best 32 tackles, including 1.5 for loss, an assisted sack and a forced fumble.
The 2024 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy finalists and the winner will be selected by an illustrious national voting committee, including a fan vote component, and announced on ESPN's Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 12. The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Presentation Gala will take place February 1, 2025, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
The semifinalists for the award will be announced as the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team in mid-September, and the finalists will be announced on November 26. The recipient of the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy will also serve as Captain of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
