Barks and Bubbles, the place for all of one’s dog grooming needs, held its ribbon cutting ceremony today in Prescott. K.D. Hicks opened her establishment last July, but because of restrictions during the pandemic, the ribbon cutting was postponed until now. Hicks previously worked at Barkin Barn for two years, and while there she built up a steady clientele of customers. When Barkin Barn had to close down, Hicks decided she would strike out on her own to keep the pet grooming business going for the community of Prescott. "I had my customers and their pets I had grown very attached to; I didn't want to let them down," said Hicks. "I decided to just open my own business. I love these animals and enjoy spending my days with them." Chamber Director Jamie Hillery said she is excited about the Barks and Bubbles ribbon cutting. "We need businesses like this in Prescott," Hillery said. "In the past, people had to go to Hope or Arkadelphia to get their pets groomed. Now, they can stay right here in the community."
Barks and Bubbles provides baths, trims, ear cleaning, and much more for those fur-baby needs. Hicks has a large roster of clients already, but she says she still has room and will happily take more. Interested patrons can call Barks and Bubbles at 8707035897 or come by 1304 W First N in Prescott.
