Bears Claw Their Way to a 8-7 Victory Over Mountain Pine to Improve to 3-0 in Conference Play
Spring Hill- The Bears welcomed the Red Devils to town on Monday night, in a battle of the unbeatens in conference play for a key matchup. The Bears led pretty much the entire way, until they saw their 6-2 lead disappear, and headed into the bottom half of the sixth trailing 7-6. Colin Overton hit a single and Maddox Dickson scored from second base to tie the game at 7-7. Overton would advance to third base and would score on a passed ball to give Spring Hill the 8-7 lead. "We got hit with a bad inning in the 6th, but we didn't let it get us down and we came back and got the win," Bears 1st baseman Maddox Dickson said after the win. Jaxon Smith would go 1-2-3 in the 7th inning, to collect the win on the mound, as Spring Hill improved to 3-0 in conference play.

After the game, Coach Loe spoke on the resilience of his team, "Just a gritty team win with their backs against the wall, we just fight we preach fight every single pitch they knew they were gonna win the game and they were ready for the moment."

Karson Hamilton got the start for the Bears on the mound and looked great, as he struck out 7 and was cruising through the first 5 innings of the game. Hamilton would finish the game going 5 2/3 innings, 4 ER and allowed just 4 hits. Jaxon Smith came in relief and dealt, striking out 3 batters in 1 1/3 innings to get the win for the Bears.

At the plate, four Bears had 2 hits, with Karson Hamilton and Mason Moore each recording a double, and a single each. Hamilton led the team with 3 RBI. Reed Fisher was a thorn in the side of the Red Devils all game, as he reached base safely 4 times with 2 singles and 2 walks, and scored 2 runs. Brady Rhodes was great out of the leadoff spot with 2 singles and scored 2 runs. Colin Overton had the other hit for Spring Hill.
