Dierks- Spring Hill had non-conference game with the Gurdon Go-Devils on Saturday night in the Dierks Classic and used a big 2nd quarter to pull away en route to a 69-41 victory. The game was tied at 16-16 after the first quarter, but the Bears getting out in transition early and often in the 2nd quarter saw Spring Hill carry a 44-22 lead into halftime, behind 11 points by Jackson Putz and 8 points by Reese Tarver in the second quarter. The defense did a great job forcing turnovers, leading to easy buckets at the other end, as Spring Hill ran away with a 38-point win.
Four Bears scored in double figures Saturday night, led by Jackson Putz with 21 points, including multiple assists, and great defense to pace the Bears offense Saturday night. After the game JP spoke on the Bears win, "We played as a team really well, we got easy buckets in transition, we played really hard on defense." Maverick Mills scored 15 points, Grant Hudman poured in 11 points, including two 3-pointers, and Karson Hamilton scored 10. Reese Tarver added 8 points, all of which came in the second quarter.
Spring Hill is back in action on Tuesday as they host the Cougars of Lafayette Co..
