Dierks- Off to a slow start, the Bears found themselves trailing after the first quarter 14-6. Sparked by a 16-0 run to start a second quarter, the Bears grabbed a 10-point lead at the half. The defense was on full display in the second quarter, outscoring Horatio 23-5 in the quarter. The Bears outscored the Lions in each quarter of the second half to extend their lead and seal a spot in the Regional Tourney for the first time in 10 years. Grant Hudman torched the Lions for a game high 20 points. Levin McGuire (14) and Andrew Wylie (12) combined for 26 points to lead the Bears to victory. The Bears were even more impressive on the defensive end, allowing only 22 total points after the first quarter Monday night.
The Bears are back in action Wednesday at 5:30 against Dierks.Â
