Bears Top Bobcats in Season Opener, 7-6

Spring Hill-  First game of the year for both baseball teams, and fans could not have asked for a closer game. The Bears struck first putting up 3 runs in the first inning, only to have the Bobcats answer with 5 runs of their own. Spring Hill fought back with 3 runs in the 4th inning and took the lead back from Hope. The Bears held onto the lead the rest of the game ending in a 7-6 win for the Bears.

The Bears were led offensively by Trace Clements who had 2 hits and Reese Tarver had a 2-run double. Spring Hill was very active on the bases as they swiped 6 bags, 3 of which were from Jayce Moore. Carson Moore started the game for the Bears, scattering just 2 hits and recording 1 strikeout.

Tyler Patterson and Jack Johnson both pitched 3 innings for the Bobcats. Patterson scattered 4 runs (3 Earned) while striking out 5 batters. Johnson allowed 3 runs while striking out 3 batters. Johnson also had a good day at the plate with 2 doubles. Kaleo Anderson added 2 singles, and both Tyler Patterson and Triston Young added RBI singles.
