Blevins Class of 2026 Celebrates Graduation with Over $833,000 in Scholarships

The Blevins High School Class of 2026 officially turned their tassels on Friday night during a moving commencement ceremony at the Imon G. Brown Gymnasium. Following their class motto, "Striving for Excellence," the graduates celebrated a journey defined by resilience, Hornet pride, and record-breaking achievements.

The evening featured speeches from the class's top scholars. Salutatorian Jackson Bonner took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, sharing humorous stories from kindergarten through senior year. He urged his classmates to embrace every stage of life, saying, "Never stop growing in character, in love, in faith. In your success and your failure, grow."

Valedictorian Alyssa West followed with a reflection on how quickly the high school years passed. She challenged her peers to look beyond just "existing" as they enter the real world. "We are being encouraged to truly live: to take risks, explore, fail, grow, and to define life on our own terms," West said.

One of the most touching moments of the night was the Presentation of Flowers. In a show of gratitude, the seniors entered the stands to present roses to their parents and mentors, acknowledging the family support that helped them reach the finish line.

The academic success of the class was a major highlight of the program. Principal Dr. Kimberly Turner announced that the Class of 2026 earned a staggering amount, over $833,000 in scholarships, a true testament to the students' hard work and diligence.

As the ceremony concluded and the new graduates marched out in the recessional, the message of the night was clear: for the Blevins Class of 2026, this is only the beginning.
