Kav Coleman led the way with 23 points and 10 rebounds on Friday. Coleman also added 2 assists and 2 steals. After the game Kav spoke on the win, "Defense got us going tonight, the offense was slow to start off, so defense helped us get on track." Keyonte Wingfield had himself a great night on both ends of the floor, with 8 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals, as Wingfield continues to display his elite level of defensive play and decision making on the offensive end. Coach Bell had this to say on his point guard after the game, "I know I sound like a broken record but Keyonte was great for us again tonight, his defensive intensity he brings sets the tone for us." Justin Myrick poured in 8 points, two of which came from beyond the arc. Kobe Hughey came up big for his team with 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Hughey's athleticism continues to make a difference on both ends of the floor for the Jays. Monti Mixon had another great game with 6 points, 5 boards, and 2 blocks, as the freshman continues to improve each game. Rico Aparicio had 6 points on two 3-pointers, one of which was from Steph Curry range, as his heel was on the volleyball line just before the half.
Big win for Nevada as they improve to 6-1 on the season and will host Spring Hill on Tuesday night. The Bears are 1-1 on the season.
