Blue Jays Erase 13-Point Deficit, Top Dumas in OT 55-50
Bismarck- Bismarck put on a Thanksgiving Holiday Hoops Classic this week and Tuesday featured a game between a pair of schools who are no stranger to playing into the month of March year in and year out, as the Dumas Bobcats faced off against the Nevada Blue Jays.

Less than 24 hours after dropping a tough game to Morrilton on Monday in Prescott, the Blue Jays hit the road to Bismarck for another tough opponent on a neutral court. The first half was knotted up at 22 apiece before Dumas hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Bobcats a 25-22 lead at the half. Dumas would get their lead up to 13 points in the third quarter, but the resilient Blue Jays kept fighting and started chipping away at the lead.

Trailing by 4 points with 35 seconds remaining in the game, Rico Aparicio got a steal and layup, followed by Keyonte Wingfield finding Kobe Hughey for a game-tying layup with just under 10 seconds in the game forcing overtime. Dumas would score first in OT, but Nevada would go on a 7-0 run to finish OT, capped off by a dunk by Monti Mixon. "We knew it was going to be a dogfight, we just grinded it out, we were down 13 we just had to make that comeback," Kobe Hughey said after game.

Hughey led the Jays with 17 points on Tuesday, including heating up in the second half, knocking down three 3-pointers in about a 5 minute span. Keytonte Wingfield poured in 14 points and once again made a lot of defensive plays including a big steal at the end of the game to lead to transition points for Nevada. Monti Mixon scored 13 points, 8 of which came in the 4th and OT. After the game Mixon spoke on the win, "We knew it was going to be a hard win to get, they're a tough team they are one of the best teams in their class so we had to come out ready to play." Tre King hit a 3-pointer and played some big minutes late for Nevada, with Taco Roberson and Rico Aparicio each scoring 2.

Coach Eddie Beck spoke on the Blue Jays 55-50 win after the game, "Dumas has some of the best tradition in 3A, they're big, strong, and physical, we had to find a different way for us to win tonight, a big comeback win, our guys could've folded but they didn't, winners win and thats what they did." Nevada showed a lot of resilience in this win, with no rest after being pushed all game by a really good Morrilton squad, this group did a heck of a job getting a win over a tough 3A team in Dumas.

Nevada will be back in action on Monday as they travel to Fordyce to take on Bearden in the opening round of the tourney in Fordyce.
