Emerson and Nevada exchanged blows early on in the game, but some great shooting by Rico Aparicio got the Blue Jays out and running in the 2nd quarter, as Nevada went on a run to give themselves a 39-26 lead at the half.
The Blue Jays would continue to pull away, as they found themselves in the drivers seat in the 2nd half on their way to a 24-point win. "We shot the ball well tonight, energy picked up and the crowd got going," Coach Beck said on the Jays 3rd win of the season.
Senior Kobe Hughey continues to play at a high level, leading the Jays in scoring Thursday night with 19 points. Hughey added added 11 rebounds and 7 assists, as he was playing a great brand of basketball. Aparico poured in 16 points, all of which came in the 2nd quarter. Monti Mixon had 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Keyonte Wingfield had 9 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists. Tre King scored 6 points. King played great when starting guard Wingfield was in some early foul trouble. Taco Roberson, Jordyn Harris, and Hurkillis Burns each had 4 points. Burns added 3 steals. Colton Burns and Tatum John each added 2 points.
Nevada will hit the road Tuesday night in Bradley and will not have a home game until Nov. 24th against Morrilton.
