Tristan Griffith got the nod from Coach Rhodes on Thursday night and Griffith did a great job, as he exited the game after three innings of 3-hit ball, striking out 3 batters and allowing just 1 ER as he picked up the win. Griffith was followed in relief by Cole Fore and Wesley Almand in the middle innings, as both pitchers each recorded a strikeout and combined for 2 IP. Myrick was credited with the save, as he struck out 3 batters and allowed just one baserunner.
The Blue Jay lineup did a great job Thursday night of working the count and applying pressure to the Bulldogs pitching staff, as the bases were full of Blue Jays all game long. Nevada banged out 5 hits, as Wesley Almand smoked a double and had an RBI, and Justin Myrick, Brogan Rhodes, Tristan Griffith, and Caleb Moss each had a hit. Rhodes, Myrick, and Moss each had 2 RBI, while Griffith had 1 RBI. Colin Nelson led the Jays with 3 RBI and Braylon Srebalus added an RBI. The Jays took advantage of some wild pitching by the Bulldogs, as they drew 18 walks.
Big shoutout to the pitching staff of the Jays this week, as they worked hard to be able to get 20 innings of work in in just three days, and nice work by the coaching staff of managing the innings. You can find Nevada back on the diamond on Monday as they travel to Taylor.
