Blue Jays Rout Dierks 79-43 on Thursday Night
Dierks- The Blue Jays (8-1) hit the floor running on Thursday night, as they poured in a season-high 25 points in the first quarter, as Keyonte Wingfield scored 10 and Monti Mixon scored 8 in the opening quarter to pace the Jays offense. Nevada would then score 22 more points in the 2nd quarter to take a commanding 47-21 lead into halftime. "We came out ready to go tonight, shot the ball well early, played great defense, we got off to that fast start we know we're capable of," Coach Mario Bell said after the Jays 36-point win on Thursday night. The Blue Jays would score 16 points in each of the 3rd and 4th quarters to cruise to a 79-43 win. The offense of the Jays was very well-balanced as six Nevada players scored in double-figures. 

Keyonte Wingfield was named the player of the game for his 18-point point performance, all of which came in the 1st half. Wingfield also added 3 assists, 3 rebounds, and 4 steals as he continues to play elite defense. Kavion Coleman finished the night with 12 points, 8 assists, and 5 boards, while Monti Mixon had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks, as his presence in the lane was felt all game. Kobe Hughey continued his streak of excellent play as he scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. Caleb Moss scored 10 points and added 6 rebounds and 3 steals, as he scored 6 of those 10 points in the 3rd quarter. Brogan Rhodes also scored in double-figures with 10 points and added 5 rebounds. Rico Aparicio added 3 points, Justin Myrick 2 points, and Hurkillis Burns added 2 points. 

Great team win for the Blue Jays, as they improved to 8-1 on the season. Nevada is scheduled to play on Saturday against Lafayette Co. at 3:45.
