Blue Jays Run Away with 75-39 Road Win over Ouachita
Ouachita- The Nevada boys came out firing on all cylinders Tuesday night against the Warriors as they jumped out to a 19-11 lead after the first quarter. The Blue Jays turned up the pressure in the second quarter as they outscored Ouachita 26-9, to take a 45-20 lead into halftime. “The second quarter was definitely our best quarter of the game”, Coach Bell said in his post-game interview. Nevada would stay the course in the second half and score another 23 points in the third quarter to put the game to rest. The Blue Jays would allow just 19 points the entire second half to win the game 75-39. Brycten Harris paced the offense with 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Kavion Coleman continues to impress as he poured in 13 points, 3 assists, and played great defense forcing multiple turnovers. Cardi Adair had a good night as he scored 12 points and grabbed 5 boards, while Kobe Hughey played a great game off the bench with 10 points, 6 boards, and 2 blocks as he was a spark plug off the bench Tuesday night. Keyonte Wingfield got into some early foul trouble, but still managed 8 points and 5 assists. After the game senior guard Brycten Harris spoke about coming out ready to play, “They just beat a team by 60 so we knew we had to bring the energy and push the ball up the court.” Coach Bell after the game, “Anytime you can get a road win in a great environment like this, it’s a big win. We really did a good job of getting defensive rebounds and getting the ball up the court.” Nevada will travel to Acorn this weekend as they play Friday night and again on Saturday in which will be a big game early on in the season.
