Blue Jays Soar Past Mineral Springs 77-55
Mineral Springs- In their conference opener, the Blue Jays (10-2, 1-0) shot the ball very well, as they poured in nine 3-pointers, and made some key stops when needed to secure a 77-55 conference road win over the Hornets. Nevada jumped out to a 22-16 lead after the first quarter and extended that lead to 38-25 at the break, as Keyonte Wingfield had 11 points in the first half and dished out multiple assists.

Nevada would go on to outscore Mineral Springs 24-15 in the third quarter behind Kobe Hughey's 8-point performance in the quarter, as the Jays put the game out of reach. Justin Myrick had his best game of the season, as he scored 14 points, and played very good on both sides of the floor. Four Blue Jays scored in double-figures, as Wingfield led the way with 19 points, Myrick poured in 15, Hughey scored 12, and Kavion Coleman added 10. After the game, Kobe Hughey spoke on the key components to the Jays win on Monday, "Defense and we shot the ball good tonight, feels good to get the win."

Rico Aparicio had 8 points, Caleb Moss and Brogan Rhodes each had 5 points, and Monti Mixon and Hurkillis Burns each scored 2 points. Mixon took flight on a fast-break and slammed the ball home, as that was a big momentum boost for Nevada, as they went on a run after that.

Nevada improved to 1-0 in conference play and will host Oden on Tuesday night for their second conference game in two nights.
