Blue Jays Stumble Against Cossatot River
Nashville- In their first game of the Nashville Classic, the Blue Jays (12-3, 3-0) faced Cossatot River on Monday night and did not play their best brand of basketball by any means, as they struggled to score, losing the game 42-38. The defense was there for Nevada last night, as they held the Eagles to just 17 points in the opening half, take a 19-17 lead into the break. The 3rd quarter was back and forth, but in the final quarter, Nevada only made 1 FG, as they were outscored 13-7 in the fourth quarter, suffering a 4-point loss.

As a team, Nevada shot just over 21% from the field and 1/16 from 3pt range. The Blue Jays did shoot 13/15 from the charity stripe, as Keyonted Wingfield was 7/8. Wingfield played aggressive, driving the basketball and led the team with 15 points. Kavion Coleman scored 9 points. Brogan Rhodes and Monti Mixon each scored 3 points, while Caleb Moss, Justin Myrick, Kobe Hughey, and Rico Aparicio each scored 2. Caleb Moss led the team with 9 rebounds. A staggering stat is that the Blue Jays had just 3 assists as a team on Monday night.

The Blue Jays will welcome LR Mills on Tuesday, as they are the #1 ranked team in 4A. Look for the Blue Jays to fight and compete hard, as they will look to pull off a huge upset on Tuesday night.
