Hope- The Bobcat and Lady Cats soccer teams each played JV and Varsity games Monday in Hope. All four games Monday were tough and physical games. The JV girls’ game ended in a 1-1 tie, with freshman Madelyne Maclaughlin scoring the goal for the Lady Cats. The JV boys game ended in a 0-0 tie as both teams were very stingy in allowing any kind of offense to take place.Â
The Varsity girls’ game was a good one, as Lake Hamilton took an early 1-0 lead, but later on in the 2nd half freshman Madelyne Maclaughlin made a great move to beat the goalie and tie the game. Lake Hamilton scored with only minutes to go to seal the win 2-1.
The Varsity boys’ game did not disappoint, early on in the match sophomore Aniell Felipe made a great play and scored to put the Bobcats ahead. Lake Hamilton would answer and tie the game up in the 2nd half. Sergio Martinez played a great game defensively for the Bobcats. The game ended in a 1-1 tie, a great display of soccer in all four games. “Lake Hamilton has a very good team and these types of games will get us ready for conference play”, said Coach Marshall. The Bobcats will travel to Warren on Friday for the next matchup.
