Pre-season workouts for high school football began Aug. 3 under guidance from the Arkansas Activities Association in consultation with Governor Asa Hutchinson’s office. Hope High School Bobcat Co-Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Phillip Turner said the Cats will work in helmets and pads in afternoon practices Monday through Thursday and morning practice on Friday beginning Aug. 10. The AAA has directed schools in Arkansas to observe Arkansas Department of Health guidance regarding the use of face masks and maintaining standard hydration practices during workouts in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Turner said the workout schedule helps provide an opportunity for some normalcy, but he is ready for his squad to play some Bobcat football.
