Bauxite- The Hope Soccer Team had a very eventful 2 games in the Conference Tourney held in Bauxite this weekend. It had been almost 2 weeks since the Bobcats have taken the field since their last conference game Hopeās offense erupted with a convincing 8-2 victory Morrilton Thursday night in the Semifinals. Defensivley the only to goals were scored against Hope were on PKs. The scoring got started early when Irvin Castrejon set up Alexander Brand as he found the back of the net for the Bobcats 1stĀ goal. Aniell Felipe would score a very impressive goal on a pass from Alexander Brand to tie the game at 2-2. Adrian Yepez found the back of the net for a goal on a nice pass from Aniell Felipe. The 2ndĀ half started with 2 quick goals from Irvin Castrejon who played a terrific game for the Bobcats Thursday night. Reyes Hernandez and Aniell Felipe would assist Irvin on the goals. Josh Ramos would then score his 1stĀ goal of the night on a nice pass from Irvin Castrejon. Marco Borboa and Kelston Mask would then score a goal each as they capped off the scoring for Hope in a blowout win of 8-2.
Friday night, the showdown between Hope and DeQueen for the Conference Championship did not disappoint anyone in attendance as Hope lost the game in penalty kicks to DeQueen. With the game tied at 0-0 after 100 minutes of Soccer, as both teams were physically drained a very impressive PK scenario was on display. DeQueen pulled it out for the win. Great play from the Bobcats all game long, especially on the defensive end and multiple great saves from Senior Goalie Gilberto Dominguez, he played excellent. The Bobcats are gearing up for one goal and that is a State Championship, the 1stĀ round matchup for Hope is at 3PM as they take on Harding Academy.Ā
