Bobcat WR Issac Love spoke on the offense Wednesday after practice, “Coach E has us a real good game plan out. We’ve been watching film and some big numbers are coming.” Offensively, pre-snap penalties have stalled out drives the first two games. Look for those to improve week by week as the season gets further along.
“We’re going to try and attack both ways Friday, Prescott has a very aggressive defense,” Coach Turner said about Friday's upcoming game. One of the many challenges the Prescott defense will present Friday is its great D-Line. Turner said “Our O-Line has to come ready to play. That defensive line and the Burton kid are really good.”
Defensively, Hope will have to keep the same intensity that they have had the first two games. Prescott has a lot of big-play ability, with Prescott QB Pierce Yates in command of a lot of weapons. Bobcat SWARK.Today Player of the Week Richard Cunningham commented Wednesday after practice about the defense’s attitude: “We’re going to keep up the intensity. The D-Line is ready, LB’s are ready, the defense is ready. Y’all watch on Friday.” Cunningham is coming off a five-sack performance, KD Gulley is coming off another double-digit tackle performance, and Juan Ortiz has been flying all over the field so far this season.
Coach Turner wants the defense to keep heading in the right direction, saying, “They need to keep up the intensity, keep being those Jack-Boyz and keep flying around the field.” This Bobcats defense went from allowing 50+ points a game last season, to holding Nashville (24) and Ashdown (12) to a combined 36 points, and one of the touchdowns was a defensive score from Nashville.
A very much improved defense has the Bobcat faithful excited to go to the stadium on Fridays. Turner is excited about Friday, “Rivalry game takes me back to my high school days. Prescott is a very good, athletic football team and we will have to be disciplined.”
Kick-off is set for 7PM at Hammonds Stadium. If you are unable to attend, you can watch it LIVE on SWARK.Today
