Hope- Following a tough loss on Tuesday night, the Bobcat Soccer team came out determined to get back to their winning ways on Friday night. Arkadelphia would strike first as they took advantage of a Bobcats mistake and found the back of the net for an early 1-0 lead. Late in the first half, Aniell Felipe would be awarded a penalty kick, and he would convert nicely to tie the game at 1-1. The second half would begin and the defense would turn it up a notch and completely shutdown the attack of Arkadelphia. Freshman Jonathon Hernandez would break the tie on a nice pass from Sal Sanchez to give the Bobcats a 2-1 lead. Moments later, on a beautiful ball from Alex Hernandez, Nathan Sanchez would tap the ball to Sal Sanchez and Sal would find the back of the net to extend the Hope lead to 3-1. With around 5 minutes remaining, Nathan Sanchez found Aniell Felipe for the dagger goal, as Felipe's goal would put the game out of reach and give the Bobcats a 4-1 victory.
GK Jose Bello had a great game on Friday night, as he continues to impress. The defense of Gio Ruiz, Sergio Brand, Carlos Garcia, Yair Munoz, and Jared Salazar in the second half was the turning point in the game for Hope. Joshua Ramos, Anthony Dominguez, Dylan Mercado, and Yahir Mercado all played huge for the Bobcats' attack last night and around the mid-field.
The Bobcats are back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Mena.
