Bauxite- The Bobcats drew the final game of the day in Bauxite on Thursday night, as they took on 1-seed Dardanelle. The last couple of weeks of the season did not go the way the Bobcats would have liked them to go, as they were searching for answers as of late. On Thursday, the Bobcats intensity and effort were great and the players left it all on the pitch. The defense was excellent and the offense had some good opportunities they just couldn't capitalize on. A "hand-ball" allowed the Lizards a PK and they converted on that in the first half, and that 1-0 lead would hold up as Dardanelle would win the game 1-0.
This is a very special group, who had to deal with a lot of tough breaks and injuries all season long, but they weathered the storm and went out swinging in the State Tourney. It shows a lot about he character and demeanor of this group.
To the seniors on this team: Alex Brand, Sergio Brand, Sal Sanchez, Gerardo Jimenez, Victor Serrano, andJose Bello. Ya'll had a great season and I know the younger players grew a lot this season because of the attitude and leadership each one of you displayed throughout this tough season.
