Hope- The Bobcats pretty much had control of the match against the Bearcats the entire night, as they led 2-0 at the half, and tacked on a late goal to win the conference opener 3-1. Aniell Felipe got the Bobcats offense going in the opening half on a magnificent goal to give Hope a 1-0 lead. Just minutes later, the Bobcats were awarded a Penalty Kick after a foul was committed by the Bearcats in the penalty area. Alex Brand took the PK and the goalkeeper had no chance of denying Brand of the Goal as it was a perfectly executed shot. With that goal, Hope would take a 2-0 lead into the half. Mena would score with around 15 minutes remaining in the game to inch closer, but a splendid play from the Bobcats extended the lead to 3-1 as Aniell Felipe set up Anthony Dominguez for his first goal of the season. The Bobcats would finish the game up 3-1 and earn their first conference win of the year. Once again, really great play from the goalkeeper Jose Bello, as well as excellent defense from Sergio Brand, Alex Brand, Carlos Garcia, and recently named SWARK.Today Player of the Week Gio Ruiz.
Offensively, the Bobcats had a lot of good looks at the goal, but couldn't convert on the attempts. Great team play from Brian Jimenez, Nathan Sanchez, Sal Sanchez, Alex Hernandez, Josh Ramos, and Jonathan Hernandez, as the Bobcats really controlled the tempo and pace of the game. Carlos Zapata played some big minutes for Hope as well. Once again goals were scored by Aniell Felipe, Alex Brand, and Anthony Domninguez. Aniell also picked up an assist. The Bobcats are back in action on Thursday as they host Bauxite in a conference game.
