
Fland had successful surgery on Jan. 22 to repair an injury to his Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) on his right thumb. The injury originally occurred in Arkansas’ game against Florida (Jan. 11) and he attempted to play through the injury in the Razorbacks’ next two games (at LSU and at Missouri). NOTE: he scored 19 points in that game at LSU and dished out 11 assists with just two turnovers in the LSU and Missouri games combined.
Fland has missed the last 15 games. Prior to the injury, he started the first 18 games of the season for the Razorbacks and was leading the SEC in minutes played per game (34:07). He led all NCAA freshmen in assist-turnover ratio (3.68) and ranked eighth overall in the NCAA (first in the SEC) in assist-turnover ratio. He additionally led all NCAA freshmen in assists per game (5.72) and ranked 29th overall in the NCAA in assists per game.
Despite missing the last 15 games, Fland still ranks 15th in the SEC in total assists with 103. He averages 15.1 points per game and led the team in scoring six times. He led the team in assists in 16 of his 18 games played.
