Both teams played 4 games each so it was a long day of volleyball as they are gearing up for a State Tournament run that begins in a couple of weeks.
POOL PLAY
The A team won their first pool game against Emerson 25-14, 25-10. Kynlee Glass had a team-high 5 aces and Katie Holland and Gracy Martin each added 4 aces. Martin also had 2 kills. Silbi Jones led the way at the net with 3 kills, while adding 3 aces. Savannah Fields had 3 aces and 1 kill, Baylee Pogue had 2 aces, and Addy Peek had 2 digs.
In game 2, the A team split a match with Westside Maroon 17-25 and 25-17. Silbi Jones had a game-high 5 kills. Savannah Fields had 3 aces and 2 kills. Gracy Martin added 2 aces and Katie Holland had 1 ace. Kynlee Glass had another good game with 2 aces and 1 kill and Addy Peek added 3 digs.
Game 3 saw another split set for the A team, as they tied with Cornerstone 21-15, 25-13. Silbi Jones led the team with 7 kills and 6 aces. Gracy Martin had 3 aces and 2 kills, Kynlee Glass had 2 aces, 2 digs, and 1 kill. Savannah Fields had 3 aces and 1 kill and Baylee Pogue had 1 kill and 1 ace, while Addy Peek added 3 digs.
The B team beat Smackover in straight sets to win game 1 of pool play 25-18 and 25-22. Brailyn Almand led the way at the net with a team-high 6 kills, along with 1 ace and 2 digs. Madison Faulkner had 5 kills, 3 aces, and 1 dig. Laila Santifer, Raylee Adkison, and Natalee Chunn each had a team-high 4 aces each. Santifer and Adkison had 2 kills each, Santifer also added 3 digs and Adkison added 1. Kylie Bullock added 1 kill and 1 ace and Miley Loe had 2 digs.
In game 2 of pool play, the Lady Saints B team dropped 2 close sets to Columbia 25-20 and 25-21. Brailyn Almand had another good game at the net leading the way with 3 kills. Madison Faulkner had 2 kills, 3 aces, and 1 dig as she had another really good game. Laila Santifer led the team in digs with 5, and added 2 aces. Raylee Adkison had 2 aces and 1 kill, Natalee Chunn had 2 digs and 2 aces, while Miley Loe added 2 digs.
In game 3, they dropped another close set to Trinity Christian, 25-15 and 25-21. Laila Santifer led the way for the Lady Saints with a team-high 6 aces, she also added 3 digs and 1 kill. Madison Faulkner and Raylee Adkison each had a team-high 3 kills. Adkison also was great at the service line piling up 4 aces. Brailyn Almand had 1 kill and 1 ace and 3 digs. Kylie Bullock had 3 aces.
BRACKET PLAY
The A team matched up with Westside White team and dropped a tough match, as they were eliminated from play. Silbi Jones had 5 kills and 3 digs. Savannah Fields led the way with 9 aces for GMCS and added 1 kill. Baylee Pogue and Kynlee Glass both had great games at the service line with 4 aces. Glass added 2 digs and 1 kill. Katie Holland had 3 aces and Gracy Martin had 1 ace, and Addy Peek had 3 digs.
The B Team dropped their game to Trinity Christian 7-25 and 19-25. Madison Faulkner had a team-high 3 kills. Laila Santifer led the team in aces with 2 and added 2 digs. Brailyn Almand had 1 kill and 1 ace. Raylee Adkison and Natalee Chunn each added 3 digs and 1 ace, and Miley Loe had 3 digs. Kylie Bullock added 1 ace.
