Carmie Prinsloo earns a second SEC Freshman Runner of the Week honor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second time this season Carmie Prinsloo has claimed the SEC Freshman Runner of the Week honor. Prinsloo was the top freshman finisher over 5,000m at the Chile Pepper Festival and placed eighth overall.

Prinsloo covered the course in 17:14.5 at Agri Park to finish third among the Razorbacks as Arkansas captured the team title. Earlier this season Prinsloo received the conference honor after her debut race with the Razorbacks, placing fourth at the Mizzou Opener.

Arkansas is ranked No. 11 in the national coaches’ poll this week. The next race for the Razorbacks will be on Oct. 15 at the Pre-National Invitational hosted by Florida State.
