Circus Man astonishes at both Nevada County and Hempstead County libraries
Jason D’Vaude, also known as Circus Man , performed a show in the morning at Prescott City Park and then in the early afternoon at Hempstead County Public Library.  His nearly hour-long assemblage of magic tricks, juggling, athletic exhibitions and witty repartee was diverting for both youngsters and adults.

D’Vaude, based in Kansas City, said he has been touring as a performer for 20 years, having first entered into show business after working at a rather unique business.

“I started at a toy store called U.S. Toy Company Magic Shop. It was an interesting toy store with a lot of different departments, and one of the departments was a magic shop. And they also sold juggling equipment, fire torches and, of all things, professional circus equipment,” D’Vaude said after his Prescott show.

He said he became “obsessed” with learning to juggle after taking a class offered at the store. After he picked up some skills, he began to work in the store demonstrating its products.

As of now those skills, continually built-upon, have taken him pretty far. “I've been as far as London and India and but mostly the United States. I do a lot of fairs, festivals, libraries, corporate events. I'm now offering inspirational or motivational keynote presentations for corporate events, fundraisers, etc. So I'm trying to branch out more and more. But in the last couple of years, I've been as far as New Jersey, Ohio, South Texas,” D’Vaude said.

As for this week, he has his appearances in Prescott and Hope today, but will also perform in Arkadelphia, at the Clark County Library. Then he drives back up to Kansas City to do a private show at the Kansas City Royals’ Kauffman Stadium.

The Circus Man’s shows were part of both the Nevada County and Hempstead County libraries’ summer series for kids.  The next Nevada County event is Big Poppa Bubble, Tuesday July 15th at 10:30 am again at the Prescott City Park Pavilion, then the Wild Things Safari on Tuesday July 22nd at the library.

At Hope’s Hempstead County Library, Historic Washington State Park brings a program Thursday July 10th.  Big Poppa Bubble arrives Tuesday July 15th at 2:00 p.m,  Balloon Man arrives Thursday July 17th at 2:00 p.m.  Zoofari comes to the library Tuesday July 22nd at 2:00 p.m.  Then on Tuesday July 29th, Magic Mr. Nick brings his show at 1:00 p.m. and a Bubble Party happens at 2:00 p.m.
