City of Hope Tourism Commission Plans Sesquicentennial Celebration
March 5, 2025, Hope, Arkansas,

The City of Hope Tourism Commission has put plans in place for Hope’s 150th Anniversary Celebration.   Hope was incorporated in April of 1875.  Therefore, the anniversary celebration will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Mark your calendars now for the grand occasion that will begin at 10:00 AM and will include downtown shopping (vendors and retail businesses) and the 150th Celebration Parade at 2:00 PM.  The City Hall lawn will be the afternoon venue from 3:00 PM until 8:15 PM.  The 150th Anniversary Planning Committee encourages everyone to bring your lawn chairs and prepare to spend the afternoon so as not to miss any of the activities.

All festivities at City Hall, which is located at 206 W Avenue A, will be free and will include a Sesquicentennial Proclamation, Dancetastics performance, music provided by the Hope High School band, THAT Band featuring Hope native, Joe Purvis, and Majestic Jazz featuring Hope native, Jeff Madlock.  Family friendly fun and games will be a welcomed highlight that will also include a Kidz Zone with bounce houses.  Dinner on the lawn will be free for all in attendance thanks to Farmers Bank & Trust.  The community will enjoy a display of fireworks to close out the celebration.

Summer Chambers, 150th Celebration Chair, excitedly shared her thoughts pertaining to the day-long event, “Our committee has been working for months in preparation for Hope’s Anniversary Celebration.  We are excited to commemorate this milestone that will allow us to remember and honor our past all-the-while celebrating our future.  Please make plans to join us for this memorable occasion. Huge thanks to Hope Tourism Commission and Farmers Bank and Trust for giving back to the community.”

150th Anniversary T-shirts will soon be sold at the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber, the park office, and Tailgaters.  Shirts will be $20.0
