Coordinator Lyndsi Easterling explained what the program does. "We have three and four year olds. It's a preschool program. We start at 7:00 and we're out at 2:00 every day. We do literacy, math, science, social studies, things like that, to prepare them for kindergarten. We like our preschool because we're right here on campus, so they transition over to the kindergarten here at Clinton," she said.
Served at the coffee in a classroom decorated with a farming theme were an assortment of scrumptious snacks . Each was labelled according to the farm item it resembled. There was a fruit plate (berry farm), vegetable plate (veggie garden), bowls of trail mix (chicken feed), Oreo cookies (tractor wheels), brownie bites (cow patties) and rice crispy treats (hay bales).
Just after 9:30 a.m. teachers and paraprofessionals in the program filed in to pose behind the table. The coffee was well-attended and attendees marveled at the children's art found around the room.
